Smart For Them, Maybe; DUMB For Us!
h3>The Objections The basic objections to smart meters fall into one of 3 major categories:

PRIVACY: A "smart" meter on your home will report your usage on a minute-to-minute basis. As you conform to the requirements for "smart" appliances (see below), the information data base which is generated on your personal use will become more and more specific.

"He knows when you are sleeping,
He knows when you're awake,
he knows when you've been bad or good,
so BE GOOD FOR GOODNESS' SAKE!"

And you can be sure! - Your personal usage stats can - and will - be sold to a market which will develop around this latest breech of your privacy!
PRICE: Literally EVERY jurisdiction which has had these things forced on it reports a sudden large increase in their power bill, with no changes in their usage! Don't believe for a second the hollow promises of your utility company that a "smart' meter will "save you money" on power! It's a LIE!
And who's going to pay for the "smart" information network - starting with replacing the meters themwelves? And going all the way from there to the relay transmitters, the receivers, the computer-based report monitoring system, and so on? Can you believe for a moment that your electric utility will cover the extra cost out of their profit? NO, you CAN'T!
THE THIN EDGE: The meter is only a small part of the whole "smart" agenda! It's designed to report - and control! - your specific usage; ie, fridge, heating, air conditioning, lights, everything in your home. And it'll require that ALL your appliances soon become "smart"-compatible! Meaning YOU'll be required to replace ALL your appliances - fridge, stove, water heater, washer, dryer, dish washer, microwave (which you shouldn't have in the first place - another major source of EMR pollution!) TV and entertainment, even toaster and lights - with "Smart-Compatible" units. Are you ready to throw all your appliances out and replace them, just so Big Brother can monitor and control your power usage?
HEALTH: This is the most important of all! It seems that "smart" meters put out a whole lot more EMR pollution than they're next most dangerous competitor: Cel Phones. First, let's put an EMR meter up against a few familiar devices - all of which are active at the time of the photos:

Done The Math Yet?
Hmm, let's see: Average Radio Frequency Pollution of the regular meters? That would be 0 + 0 divided by 2, which is still ZERO! The "smart" meters? 1200 + 1284 + 1185 divided by 3, which is let's call it 1200 units. About 140% of the radiation of a small colour TV set! This meter isn't expensive - it doesn't even say what units it's reading in, but it DOES tell us that smart meters put out a LOT more radiation than regular ones!
